Through the Wilson Medical Institute, Albion College’s Pre-Medical program will prepare students with the coursework, service, clinical experience and research to take their next steps in medicine.
Students will have all the benefits of a broad liberal arts education, developing cultural competence, communication, teamwork, and social skills as they learn through one-on-one mentorship with faculty, close relationships with their peers and plenty of opportunities for active learning.
Students will develop a broad foundation in biology, chemistry, kinesiology and physics, taking classes in genetics, human anatomy, biochemistry and cell and molecular biology.
Albion College’s liberal arts core will expose students to diverse perspectives and make them a better communicator and critical thinker, skills that will help them succeed in the MCAT. They will take classes in English, math and social sciences that will contextualize their scientific study and ensure they meet the requirements for medical school. Students will prepare for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) in Albion College’s unique preparation program.
Students will learn by doing, gaining hands-on experience through clinical placements, internships, volunteering, community engagement and research.
